Event: McDade Watermelon Festival (55th Annual)
Date: 12-Jul-03
Location: McDade, Texas
Description: Friday rains did not return for the Saturday parade.

Arriving around 8:30 am, three members of the LSMVPA located the staging area behind the Lutheran church.  We adjusted the marker to place us under the trees, “circled” our vehicles and awaited the Judges.  The wait was rewarded with a “Second Place – Best Vehicle Group" plaque.

Leading the parade was Tim W. in his recently acquired 1943 Ford GPW jeep.  Herb T. followed with his 1944 Ford GPW jeep.  Last in line was Claude V in his 1941 Dodge WC-27 Ambulance. LSMVPA member John A. and his wife Sharon attended the parade, their first ever, and rode with Tim.  Member Jeff McD also attended the parade and rode with Herb T.
