The Burnet Air Show was once again well attended and
extremely well organized.
Positive aspects of the event included the variety of
planes, the proximity of the vehicle displays to the crowd and flight
line, and the overall ease and convenience of participation. Like last year, the aviators from the CAF turned out in force
to fill the sky with aircraft of all kinds from jets like a MIG to a wide
range of prop planes including a B-17, a Corsair, and countless others.
The Lone Star MVPA had several jeeps set up in an
impressive static display. The
members in attendance with vehicles also had the rare privilege of
carrying some rather famous passengers during opening ceremonies.
VIP passengers included Jim Lovell of Apollo 13, Frank Borman of
Apollo 8, and Lefty Gardner. Club members attended in period correct uniforms along with a
number of jeeps. Members in
attendance were Dan K., Lewis S., John K., Herb T., Glen V., Ray P., Tim
W., and Martin G.
This show was an excellent event with great access
for the crowd and an outstanding vantage point for members in attendance.
