| Description: | The weekly car show at the Albertson's grocery
store located in the "Y" at Oak Hill has been steadily
growing over the past several months. Vehicles usually start
arriving about 5:30pm and the parking lot is pretty full by 6:30pm
or so.
Just about every type of vehicle is present for these shows. There were vintage Mustangs, Corvettes and Chevrolets. There were hot-rods, street cars, strip cars, motorcycles and exotics like Lamborghini, Viper and Cobra. Club member Scott S decided the evening was going to be quite nice weather-wise so he drove his jeep to the event. The '53 M38A1 had a steady stream of visitors asking about it's vintage, where someone could pick one up, parts availability etc. Most comments came from former veterans who had driven or ridden in one at some point in their service to our country. About dark, it was time for Scott to head home since these jeeps just aren't visible at night even with the lights on. This should be on everyone's calendar to attend at some point! |
