| Event: |
Lakeway, July 4th Parade |
| Date: |
04-Jul-02 |
| Location: |
Lakeway, Texas |
| Description: |
Can you say SOGGY?
Central Texas has now had 10 days of straight rain. Severe
flooding has occurred in the Austin/San Antonio corridor and today was no
exception. However, we had a great showing with 9 vehicles for this
wonderful little parade just outside of Austin.
The majority of the group met at Swenson Auctioneers in Lakeway and
unloaded. We then staged several times to make sure we had all the
local General's and veterans (40 plus of them) who wanted to ride in the vehicles for the
parade. Due to the rain, the schedule changed several times but we
went with the flow and made a great showing.
The parade wondered through the little town of Lakeway in a drizzle or
light rain. The spectators were not as prevalent as last year, but
they were out none the less to show their support. In total, we had
7 1/4 tons, a deuce and an M37. |
