Tim W brought his '41 MB and John K his '45.  Scott showed up with his '53 M38A1 and Danny had his '70 M151A2/M416.  John S recently returned from his whirlwind trip to CA in his M35A2 and brought it along for the show.

The event was based on a celebration of heroes such as the military, Fire, Police and EMS units.  The Round Rock fire department had several fire trucks including one of their sky-scraper ladders.  The EMS units brought their fancy ambulance and were providing free blood pressure screening.  The police department brought their working dogs and recruiting people.  Austin PD also had their elite bomb squad guys there.

And then there was the Lonestar MVPA.  As usual, we were a tremendous hit with the people in attendance.  All morning and into the early afternoon, each vehicle had lines of people just waiting to sit in them, tell us stories or ask if we were from Ft. Hood.

Over and over, we all indicated we were a car club and the vehicles were privately owned.  That seemed to make it more special for the attendees when they found out we were a car club.  Tim had the best response to "why"?  He said it was no different the then collectors of '57 Chevy's and their fuzzy dice over the mirror.  We just liked jeeps and added big guns instead.  Way to go Tim!

The event was scheduled to run until 2pm.  About 1:15, the skies became dark and the sprinkles began.  Within a few minutes, a light rain started but was over within 5 minutes.  However, all the attendees had left so we all loaded up the vehicles and gear and headed home in sunshine.
