Here's a picture of my 1943 Dodge 3/4 Ton weapons carrier that I carried some WWII veterans in the parade. They were all dressed in summer uniforms and included two Navy vets in their dungarees, and white caps, three Army Air Corps and two Army veterans. In addition, I had two young Army re-enactors in uniform walking in front of the vehicle with weapons as if on patrol. Unfortunately, they are not in the picture. This event was the annual 4th of July parade in Gatesville, Texas. The VFW had seen my WWII truck in the previous year and had contacted me again to use if I would participate. Of course I was eager to do so. |
