This was Brent's second annual Open House hosted at his
place in College Station, Texas. He hosted the event complete with
BBQ catering, porta-potties and several large tents for people to buy,
sell and trade parts, stories etc. He also opened his shop and
warehouses to everyone. There were about 200 people and 15 or so
vehicles present for the event. Even General Patton showed up and
gave his ETO speech to the troops!
Brent has a magnificent collection of vehicles, equipment and parts,
parts parts. Did I mention parts? Lots of time was spent touring
his warehouses and you wouldn't' believe what's in them. Metal
pallet/baskets full to the brim of 1940's manufacture parts from Ford,
Willys etc. It truly was an experience to see his inventory.
Then there was the vehicles of his. He is currently working on
restoring two M24 Chaffee light tanks. He had his M4 Stewart?, M29
Hellcat and High Speed Tractor out for display. BEAUTIFUL!
Both inside and out. These are probably the finest pcs of military
equipment around. Then there were the other projects and donor
vehicles scattered throughout.
He put on a really nice event with catering BBQ, porta-potties and
large tents for the people who brought items to sell. The
following members from our club showed up for this event: Herb J with
his 1953 M37 and communications gear, Scott S and his 1953 M38A1, Glen V
and his CJ2A, Barry F, Jeff McD, Milburn L, Don L and his wife, Danny K,
John K, Claude V and his wife and 2 grandkids, Don C and Web S.
