Event: Hogeye Festival
Date: 27-Oct-01
Location: Elgin, Texas
Description: What a fun little town!  A few members had decided on attending this small Texas town festival located about 30 miles East of Austin.  The weekend was absolutely fantastic with temperatures in the mid 70's for this time of year along with bright sunshine.

Jeff McD and Tim W brought out their WWII 1/4 ton jeeps and Scott S rode his motorcycle to put it in the show as well.  Jeff was outfitted as a recon soldier and his newly finished M1919A6 looks fantastic.  Tim outfitted his jeep as an ambulance complete with stretcher and red cross insignia.  These two members were definitely a 'hit' as far as the car-show went with no less than 10 or so people at any given time looking at their vehicles, taking pictures or talking about 'their experience'.  Their group was so well liked, the two of them won a second place award for "Best Group".  They were beat out by the Ford Club that had no less than 6 Model A's all from 1931.

Scott on the other hand decided to ride his 1999 BMW F650 motorcycle to the festival and put it in the show as well.  His competition came from a 1983 Yamaha ST500.  Scott won a "Hogeye Festival" refrigerator magnet for his participation.

In addition to the many vehicles from a variety of clubs, there were multiple food vendors, arts and crafts displays and music.  Overall, it was a fun event for such a small town and the three participants had a blast.
