This was yet another of the annual Veterans Day Parades
Austin holds each year. The club had a FANTASTIC showing boasting
some 8 vehicles. This year, the club decided to spread the vehicles
out over many veterans groups vs going as one single group. We
decided to take this approach this year so we could spread out the 'riding
capacity' of the vehicles to those organizations whose members may not be
able to walk the entire parade route.
In all, we had the following vehicles: Danny K. with his M151A2/M416
combination, Scott S. with his M38A1/M416 combination, Hugh D. with his
M38, Fred F. with his MB/GPW and M100 trailer, TobyC. with his MB
and Bantam trailer, and Greg B. with his MB. Other members
present included Barry F in full airborne uniform and Jim W in his Korean
era Warrant Officer uniform.
On a side note, John K with his MB was the first vehicle of the parade
carrying the Parade Grand Marshall. Second in line was Hugh D. with
his M38 carrying Keisha Stedham, one of the US COLE survivors.
Additionally, John K showed up with his MB and Jeff M brought a friend
along with with yet another MB.
